TERRIBLY POOR DESIGN !!!
after owning each season,i sold those and went for the complete series package. now,as a collector and a person who takes good care of things...opening this set kind bummed me out instantly. ALL I8 DVD'S ARE STACKED ON EACH OTHER WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROTECTION. ALL DVD'S ARE STACKED ON A RECYCLED/CHEAP PLASTIC SPINDLE. DVD'S LIFT OFF SPINDLE TO BE SORTED BY HAND. the case opens like a book.the spindle slides out and you have to REMOVE ENTIRE STACK OF DISCS, flip through each disc to find a certain episode/season. TERRIBLE DESIGN THAT WILL NOT LAST DUE TO EASILY BEING ABLE TO SCRATCH ANY DVD JUST BY SEARCHING THRU DISCS. I'M GOING BACK TO INDIVIDUAL SEASONS I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CHEAP SET TO ANYBODY.

    would buy tis ever again due to Quality
    just okay dvd, I didn't like the fact of You hv start each episode, on the remote,that won't play bck to bck , it a bother for price they dvd comes with four episodes u hv. to start everything one stops it annoying, the 227 dvd played all 17episodes bvk to bck I like that very much.....

    Redd Foxx was like none other
    Although several decades old, this series is as funny and engaging as ever. And to be honest, unless a "trendy", fashionable character (okay, like Lamont) appears, it often doesn't feel like the show is set in the mid-1970s, what with Fred's simple attire of basic shirt, pants, and (nearly) ever-present suspenders, and most events taking place in his eclectic junk-filled living room. The hub-pack disc packaging is a bit of a nuisance when trying to select a specific disc. The picture quality is alright, however some scenes in various episodes had minor image-quality issues (not disc-related) and the audio is clear. I don't believe any digital enhancement/correction was done other than a transfer from video. A solid, funny comedy I would strongly recommend.
