amazing game but....
i love the game, 10/10 in my book. but the reason i gave this a 3 star was because of my delivery. i ordered the tears of the kingdom with golden wall scroll. i was so excited when i got home and when i opened the package, they gave me the black scroll, i was confused on ehy i had gotten the black version, so i called them and said it was a mistake on their part and that they ran out of golden wall scroll. they said to return the items and they'd refund me, but at that point it wasnt even worth it so thet gave me a 6 dollar refund. is 6 dollars worth it for a shipping mistake? honestly not sure, has never happened to me, but im pretty mad that they gave me the wrong scroll and id wish they'd actually fix the situation.

    Tears of the Kingdom was worth the wait
    Tears of the Kingdom is a great follow up to Breath of the Wild that gets a lot of things right, but stumbles on a few things. The world is just as exciting to explore as in it's predecessor and the added Sky Islands and the Depths, an entire mirror version of the overworld, increases the games expansiveness 10-fold. All of the new music is well done with a few of my favorites being the Temple of Time theme, Skyview Tower Launch, Flux Construct, and the Prologue theme. All of Link's new abilities are fun to use and the puzzles in the Shrines made for them are top notch. Ultrahand is a particular favorite, as it allows you to build just about anything with whatever is lying around. The places it stumbles is in it's dungeons and continuity with Breath of the Wild and the Zelda series in general. While the theming, music, and bosses are massive improvements over the Divine Beasts, they are essentially just Divine Beasts again. Being that you have to activate 5 things and then fight the boss. Then there is the continuity with BotW. Very few people remember what happened in the previous game, and it is kind of treated as if it didn't happen at all or it happened 100 years ago. The two biggest flaws are the lack of any Shiekah tech (Shrines, Towers, Guardians, Divine Beasts, the Shiekah Slate, the Shrine of Resurrection, and all Guardian/Ancient Weapons (except the arrow heads of the Ancient Arrows)), and the fact that no one from Hateno Village remembers who Link is. In Breath of the Wild there was a side quest called Hylian Homeowner where you could buy a house in Hateno Village. That led to a side quest where you could build up a town called Tarrey Town. Tarrey Town exists in TotK but the house was never yours (it's now Zelda's) and the person you bought the house from doesn't know who you are yet everyone in Tarrey Town does. And then there's the main story itself. As a stand alone story it is really good and better than Breath of the Wild's. But as it's sequel and as a game in the greater Zelda series, it does not work at all. I will not go into any specifics, but the game's story and lore is not at all compatible with previous entries. It may be nitpicking but when you care about the story and lore of this world it really bugs me. As for performance, while there were a few heavy frame drops in the tutorial area, I never really had any performance issues on my day 1 Switch. The only times the game will slow down is if you are moving to fast. And if you do start to have performance issues, outside of speeding, just give your Switch a quick reboot and it will be fixed. Overall the game is fantastic and easily one of my favorite games from the past few years. If you've been on the fence because of all the "it's glorified DLC" you can rest easy that it is its own thing entirely. Tears of the Kingdom makes Breath of the Wild look like a tech demo. I highly recommend this game for everyone to enjoy.

    My boys and I love this game! We really enjoy Breath of the Wild so had to have this when it came out. We really enjoy the new powers and are liking exploring the sky and the depths that are new this game. Great game that we will continue to play even after beating the main story quests.

    Great game! Enjoy it!
    More expensive than previous games but totally worth it. It includes more exploration and collecting than breath of the wild. I'm happy to see the growth of the characters I like in BOTW. Sometimes the decryption idea is totally different from that of BOTW. I think whether you have played BOTW, you will enjoy the game! (But I'm a little scared of some new scenes and monsters.)

    Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2-Fun but Not Original
    If you enjoyed Breath of the Wild then you're going to have a great time with this game. With the ability to travel through the sky, on the ground in the land of Hyrule or beneath the Earth in underground caverns, Tears of the Kingdom offers tons of exploration and adventure. With a few new abilities and a new story, Tears of the Kingdom differs from Breath of the Wild. Apart from that, the two games are practically the same. The graphics, sound and music aren't noticeably different and the game mechanics play exactly the same. To sum it up, its a sequel. Not better nor worse than its predecessor. Don't expect anything ground breaking given the hype this game received because I personally can't see it nor why this game took so long in development. But its still a fun game that will give you hundreds of hours of gameplay. I just hope the next Zelda title in the series does something completely new and different

    I pre-ordered this game and it arrived yesterday. This game is really awesome and amazing, the game graphics draws you into it and this game is really intense and involving. This game is also a better upgrade to BREATH OF THE WILD.I also highly recommend this game to anyone who likes to play video games.
