Toshiba external drive
Toshiba external drives are the fastest (comparing to Seagate and WD). Plus I have had very good longevity with Toshiba drives. Even though Walmart still uses FedEx shipping and always crushes everything I purchase, box was half crushed but drive was undamaged.

Software Problems
There is something wrong with the software. I tried to load 3T of data/info into the devise as a test but it shut down and I was not able to accesses the data/info anymore. I tried everything to recover the data with no luck. So, I did a full format and tried it again without the devise software, now I have more memory and the devise is running faster. I will buy this again if I need an external memory without any securities.

    Worked great for 10 months
    Worked great for the past 10 months. Then it stopped working all of a sudden. I guess I just got a bad one. These things happen sometimes.

    Toshiba Canvio Advance, Great Product
    First off, I am a fan of Toshiba products--every product I've ever bought from their brand has worked well, in fact part of my decision for buying this HDD is because I already own a Toshiba 2 TB Canvio external drive. The one I'm reviewing is the same quality and reliability except with twice the storage capacity. I'm sure they have documentation online for setting it up but I went straight to a YouTube tutorial which told me all I needed to know and then I proceeded to format and partition the drive as an ExFAT volume and a MacOs Journaled volume. The ExFAT volume is so I can read files both on my iMac and on a Windows machine. I'm using the other volume for Time Machine (which records the state of your computer at a chronological point that you can later access if you need to). Very happy with my purchase and I will likely purchase another Toshiba product given an ideal opportunity for doing so.
