    Surprising new use saved the day
    I had to change the element in my stove and in doing so put too much weight on the door. So much so that the door won't completely close. Not only are new door hinges a real PIA, they're also way more expensive than the element. An extensive search for alternatives eventually led me to a YouTube video of a fellow using these magnets to keep his oven door closed. Ceramic means they hold up to the high on and off heat and the size is such that you can spread them out and stack them as necessary. Voila, no need for new hinges. They've been working perfectly since after Thanksgiving, and it's now almost Valentines Day. Totally ruined my excuse to buy an new 1k gas range. Maybe for my birthday...
