This 3D NAND SATA SSD is exactly what the Industry promises it is. DO get the NAND SSD's as much as possible. Internally they are configured differently, and do behave better than the older 'standard' SSD devices. They should actually last much longer doing the same job as a spinner hd.

IDE not SATA 3
When I received this, it had the wrong connector (an IDE instead of a SATA 3). I asked a computer technician about this, and he told me that they haven't used IDE in years. I contacted elGeo about this, and they told me they would only take it back if they charge me a stocking fee (which doesn't include the cost of shipping it back). I'd also like to point out that the HDD I got says "500 GB SATA" instead of what's pictured here. In conclusion, I will be more diligent about these purchases in the future, and not have anything to do with Elgeo Electronics again.

    Haven't gotten the hard drive installed yet, I was told this was a great company and advised to buy thru them. Like the warranty. Delivery was an issue, way longer than necessary. But it's here and hopefully will work well once installed.

    Great Upgrade over Previous HDD
    I needed to upgrade an old MacBook Pro (2010) to help give it an extended life by replacing the slow HDD with an SDD drive. It was a very easy swap that helped the MBP greatly improve it's performance. Boot-up time went from 2+ minutes to 31 seconds. Write/Read went from 68 MB/s — 90MB/s TO 264 MB/s — 517 MB/s

    Good and fast drive for a personal laptop
    Super happy about this HD. Has brought back to love a Dell Mini 1010 laptop with only 1GB RAM running Linux so swaping memory pages to disk is much faster and with the virtual RAM now I can compile larger packages in faster time.

    WD SSD is a high performer
    Chose this as the drive for OS and programs in my new build. I then separated data onto a Gold Enterprise Class drive. The Blue SSD was easy to set up initially--no glitches. It performs well and I am confident it will last years beyond its warranty. For 25 years I have used only WD drives, mostly the Black Edition. WD drives have never failed. As long as I need drives, WD is my choice.

    ensure your abuility to align ssd first
    my old dell inspiron 15 3521 got back to life. I highly recommend find a good cloning software before you buy ssd. If the new and old disk size is same, then free software do not align your new disk. If you do not align then speed is low and you will have to buy a software for partion alignment.

    My grandson is happy.
    I ordered this for my grandson's PlayStation as the one in it failed. I ordered one like this for my desktop. Both are much faster than what they replaced. Western Digital products are very good and reliable, I believe top-rated by others. Very happy and my grandson is extremely happy to be back on his PlayStation again.
