easy to start fire with a great and pleasant aroma
My American Home By Yankee Candle Scented Firelog, 4-Pack arrived well packaged and was easy to open. These logs are wonderful! The scent is strong enough to freshen a room without even burning the log. The log was simple to light and was burning fully in just minutes giving off a very pleasant aroma that filled the home. The log burned for several hours and gave off a fair amount of heat. The aroma is very soothing and calming. The scent is powerful but no overpowering. Very pleasant. The log burns clean with minimum smoke but the fragrance can be smelled outside. I highly recommend these logs if you like a nice, relaxing, easy to start fire with a great and pleasant aroma.

only the bag is scented~
Great to have in your house next to the fireplace, but once you light them, they lose all of the scent. Nothing special unless you plan to NOT light them. it says it on the box and bags with the fire logs inside. It's not something I noticed until I lit one and the smell went away in the first 10 minutes. They are over priced imo, and not really worth the 2 fewer logs for the longer burn time.

    I love the smell of the yankee candle firelogs. I also enjoy the easy to use product and that it is a mess free product that is easy to use. It smells like Christmas. "I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review."

    Wonderful scents
    I loved the way this package was individually wrapped and. You could smell the pine before you opened it. Once lit the scent was just heavenly and I will be buying more. I was reimbursed for this put to give my honest review of the product

    Disappointed!
    These definitely burn well and are great starters for a nice fire when mixed with real wood. However I don't think they're worth the extra money. I didn't smell any hints of balsam or cedar at all. Same chemical smell of other fake logs.

    Lit easily, smelled great
    I got this to try to bring some Christmas to the house. I didn't notice much smell inside before it was lit. I only noticed a scent when I was right next to it. I put it in the fireplace and lit it at the designated arrows it lit easily. The package burned away and lit the log. I noticed the balsam scent when it was burning. It was pleasant, not overbearing.     Great way to start a fire!
    We have lived in our home with a wood-burning fireplace for almost 8 years. We are currently working out of the home and it is chillier than I remember any other year being. Every time I try to light the fire, the house fills with smoke. I never was a girl scout but I've never had trouble in the outdoors. This product takes out all the guess work. You place it at the back of your fireplace. There are three marked areas to light and this provides for hours of success. Once the log has caught fire and the paper has burned away, then I am able to add wood logs without any smoke and very minimal attention. I love this! As does my husband that is also working from home and is tired of starting the fire for me. I do think that the balsam and cedar scent could be more powerful as I don't notice the scent at all once the log is lit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    This Yankee Candle American Home Fresh Balsam & Cedar fire log smell great and permeates throughout the room pre lighting but not so over powering. Once you light it though, it doesn't give off any scent as it states clearly on it to Enjoy the fragrance before lighting! Not many people would pay attention to this and think the scent in in the firelog which it's not. The scent is only on the outer paper wrapper and that is the thing the burned the quickest so the scent is completely gone once the paper burns away. Very deceiving letting one think it would be a scent that is continuous throughout the burn. It lights easily and burns the allotted time it states. It's great for indoor or outdoor use BUT I personally would not spend extra monies on this firelog that does not deliver a scent throughout the burn. Very disappointed!     Scent is not infused in the logs
    These smell great-but when you burn them, the logs do NOT give off that great balsam/cedar odor. The scent is on the paper wrapper. So basically, not worth the extra $$. I cut them in half to get extra time from them.They do burn well, so I give them 2 stars.

    But why
    So. Lets start with the basics. This is a Pine Mountain fire log, should you prefer them over Duraflame. Though similar. Aka more sustainable and eco friendly than wood for burning. Whats different? The yankee candle logo, packaging and scented packaging. NO the log is not scented. That would probably be hazardous to put that much heat on artificial fragrances. What you get is a pine mountain log, with a scented wrapping, that dissipates as the log burns. Can I smell the box in the corner? Yes. Is it nice? Yes. Burning. Lit up quick and easily and had some beautiful big warming flames. Now, 10 mins later? Not so much. (See photos). Its a bit more ambiance than function. Tempted to put the thing out and use real wood. Not for warming the house. Recommendation: get a yankee candle and stick to duraflame. Unless you are a hardcore yankee candle fan and just HAVE to have these in your home. Again. Its just a pine mountain log. With scented paper. That burns awesome at first, then leaves something to be desired.

    Slightly Disappointing Yankee Firelog
    The American Home By Yankee Candle Scented Firelog, 4-Pack appeared to be a great find initially, however, it was somewhat disappointing. The 4-pack Firelogs arrived in one box, weighing 18 lbs., and the scent (of Fresh Balsam Fir) was clearly there when the box was received. It was the complete opposite when the log was burning, there was no scent. I thought the scent was going to fill the room and, sadly, there was no scent even when standing directly in front of the burning log. These firelogs are not to be used in a wood stove. I used the firelog (only one log can be used at a time) in my fireplace and made sure to open the damper. The next step is to put a firelog (with the paper remaining on it) on top of the grate and set fire on the three areas along the paper identified with arrows. So, the directions were easy enough to follow. As the flame burns, the paper burns off first and then the remaining flames begin to burn the firelog. As this process began, I timed how long it took for the entire log to be on fire - it took 20 minutes. The log did burn clean - no soot or debris flying off. Unfortunately, there was little warmth coming from the fire, including when the log was completely enflamed. As for the 3-Hour burn time stated on the box, yes, it did last 3 hours and little beyond. I am a big Yankee Candle fan, so, it does surprise me that this item falls short for me. The current price for this item is $16.98 - it was $23.46. In my humble opinion, it is not worth even the sale price to purchase these American Home by Yankee Candle 4-pack Firelogs.
