Cheap wood splits rendering the gate useless
I used this gate for a couple of months and today while setting it up, the wood on the end around the metal split. It is completely useless now. I am a stay at home mom with no income. I don't make purchases lightly, so something I have out of necessity breaking upsets me. If you absolutely NEED a baby gate, don't get this one, spend the extra money for a metal one.

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/10/2023Misleading description on Walmart site.Description was misleading, the gate requres installing cups to hold the ends of the gates. I was expecting a gate that did not require putting holes in my walls and woodwork.Barker

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/30/2023Not a good purchaseI have bought a gate like this a few times throughout the years and have always been satisfied. They have changed the design to close awkwardly. Instead of the traditional two metal prong clasps that hook the two middle prices together at the right tension now there is a plastic square that doesn't hold as well and is awkward and takes too much time to do correctly. Once you clap the two prices together, they stick out, a good 6 inches away from the gate, making it even more awkward and seemingly less stable. They had a good thing before that they have changed to be poor.Elizabeth

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/06/2023Poor latch design/material: NOT SAFE for children! This is not the same gate as in the picture...which has a metal U-clamp on the end piece that you open to adjust sizing. I originally had the gate that's in the photo it worked fine for several years for my dog; it just got old and finally broke so I bought a new one at my local Walmart an hour ago. Instead of the metal U-clamp on the end, it has a sliding plastic "Gate Latch" with a tab on it (uploaded photo). Per the directions, you have to "push tab on Gate Latch and slide Gate Latch off the locking bar." The "tab" does nothing, (though appears as if it should lock into place...it does not) and any decent CEO of a company as large as Evenflo should realize that hard plastic is NOT flexible, and by pressing the tab it will break after a few uses. A child could easily slide this off, loosen the bars, and knock the gate over. Very cheap design flaw to save the Evenflo company a few bucks, line the pockets of their CEOs with huge bonuses, and give the customer something they will soon have to replace. I'll be driving this right back over to return it.Hardworker

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/30/2022Not an easy lock in place gate! The gate does not lock in place easily at all. I wanted one with the lift bar to lock it in place…that's not this gate!. I also though it was taller.Unknown

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/09/2021Not 32" tall. Not 32" It's only 31" at the bracket that holds them together. The fencing is metal, but very thin. I hope my new dogs will be fully trained before this thing falls apart. Don't recommend and I havent even installed it yet.Unknown
