Perfect for my needs
This portable backup hard drive was very simple to install and use— it is indeed just “plug and play” with the included USB cord. The automatic backup and sync works great and puts my mind at ease. The hefty 4 terabytes will serve as more then adequate backup and storage for my computer and other data devices. I especially appreciate its compact size and lightweight, which is perfect for traveling and alternating between uses with my laptop and home computer.

I've had it with Seagate premature drive failures
Bought this about a month ago to use for backups. Lasted only two weeks then started throwing read and access errors, preventing Win 10 backup from working properly, and really messing with Win Explorer. I'm now 2 for 2 in the last 5 years of Seagate drives that fail within a few months. I'm done with Seagate for good; going back to either WD, Samsung, or possibly external Crucial SSD from now on.

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/22/2023Not goodThe item was not as described. It did not do what it said it would do which is to automatically download each day. It was also very difficult to hook up to the computer. Not a good fitNancy

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/12/2023Bought 5TB but capacity is only 447GB!This is the first time Walmart disappointed me. Tried going to store because the app says it is in stock. When I get there, the associate says zero inventory. It’s weird coz I tried ordering and pick up the same day and got it. I didn’t notice that the seal was already cut but still I hope everything will be ok. When I plugged it in, an error keeps on appearing. I looked at the properties and the capacity is only 447Gb. I paid for 120 bucks for 5TB and I will receive a 447Gb. The packaging and the label in it shows 5TB in it. It’s weird! Will be returning!Cathy

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/29/2023SeaGate and Walmart Vert impressed.4TB HDD under $100, way to go! SeaGate and Walmart. This is a Plug-n-Go solution from SeaGate. If your buying for your mac I would suggest using Disk-Doctor and formatting it for MAC OS Journaled" rather than leaving it as Fat 32 MS Dos. I purchased from Walmart and had it shipped. It arrived virtually the next day. Vert impressed with Walmart.Robert

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/04/2023It's a harddrive. Don't overthink it.It's a 4TB external drive. There's not much to say. Negative reviews are true. Positive reviews are true. Any manufacturer has duds. Any have quality units. Seagate just happens to have way more quality units than duds. I use computers for a living. I've gone through many drives, HDD and SSD. They've all had problems sometimes and other times haven't. I trust Seagate. The pricepoint is right, so is the space. Speaking of space. No, you will not have 4 terabytes free. It is a 4 terabyte drive though. There's something called a "file system". It's a system of information... think of indexes and such, that point to where files are on the drive. In some file systems it may also contain information on what kind of files they are, which users own them, etc. The space that is mysteriously not there, is there. It is being used by the file system along with another thing called a partition table. Ignore any review on any drive complaining about missing space. The bigger the drive, the more "missing space" there will be. Anyway, I got this for a PS5. It's working fine. Transferring an average of 500gb of files in about 80-90 minutes via USB 3.0 either way. Had to up it from a 2TB drive which is going to another console.RF

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/19/2022PoorDrops connection when your computer goes to sleep or starts screen saver. Seagate plugs to computer via usb and has no power cord of its own. I think THAT IS the problem for dropping the connection and also drops copying your files. Junk.Saida

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/07/2021Perfect Back Up SolutionI have used a Seagate external drive as my back up for years. This is nice and still so easy to use. It comes with a few bells and whistles, but if you choose, the basic drag and drop still works fine. I am so pleased with this item and the brand.astone803

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/29/2021EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS 4TB IT WON'T HOLD 250 GBPathetic excuse of storage. Says 4TB but can't hold 250GB. WORTHLESS. Haven't seen a drive write this slow in 20 years. IF I could give 0 stars or negative I most certainly would. I knew some companies got busted for ripping customers off using outdated materials for drives but I thought Seagate was one that wasn't doing it. Back to Toshiba. It maybe a little more but with them 4TB is 4TB.panCDCA
