PAYWALL INSANITY!!
This game looks and loads like a PS2 or game. You want the weather to change? You have to buy a $20 upgrade. Want to hang out with friends? Buy another upgrade. Want to throw a party? Buy another upgrade. Want some holiday decorations? BUY ANOTHER UPGRADE. This game's developer (EA) is shameless, and notorious for paywalls and micro-transactions for things that are ALREADY ON THE DISC. Why should you have to pay extra to use them??

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/09/2017Youtube Made Me Buy ItI'm gonna be honest, I'm obsessed with Dan and Phil Games on Youtube. So much so that, I literally bought this game to play vicariously through my own custom sim(s). The only problem? I am now addicted. I would recommend!Mariah5SOS

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/21/2016It's A Great Game!I've the game for over two years now and it's really fun! A lot of people dislike this newest installment of the Sims because of the many things that were there in the previous games, but didn't make it to this one. ex; toddlers, open world, create-a-style, etc. The game is still very enjoyable without these features, the sims are more lively, have more emotions, and I feel more connected to them. In the Sims 3 the sims eyes were lifeless. I think that many teenagers will enjoy this game. I would recommend buying this for them, especially now on Black Friday. With the addition of expansion packs like Get To Work the game is even more fun! The Sims 4 is a really fun game and very enjoyable. The only things I would say I dislike about the game is the loading screens. If you're someone coming from playing The Sims 3 the loading screens might take a little adjusting to, other than that it's a very enjoyable game. If you want to know more information you can always go online and research, watch videos, read reviews, etc.BlackGirlsSimToo

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/03/2016Sims 4I bought this for my oldest daughter who is disabled. She loves it. She plays it every day and now wants the expansion packs.. This is a very good game for those who don't get out much and are bored all the time.. You can build houses, make friends and families do what ever the possibilities are endless.. The price was really good for a new game. I Highly recommendpatty3799

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/17/2014Greati was very wary of buying it because it's so expensive and they cut back a lot of things even for a base game, but I finally caved and got it at a semi decent price online at Walmart. I don't regret it cause I am a huge sims fan and really wanted the game and it is fun, but it does needs improvement.SimsMania

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/14/2014Love the Sims!I love The Sims games! This one is a little bit different than the previous Sims games and there's more variety of things in the game. A downside is that it seems like Sim's needs get low quicker than in the Sims 3. It could be from the new bar style, but it seems like you have to fulfill their needs more often than usual.Zurifina

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/11/2014Better than previous Sims base gamesTo be honest, I love this game. For those of you new to The Sims franchise, it can be summed up as simply a good virtual life simulation game. For old fans, I'll go into more detail: *Good for rotational-style play *Much faster loading screens than The Sims 3 *The things that are missing from base game (ghosts, pools, many careers) are being added FOR FREE in future patches (ghosts are already added - pools and careers are confirmed for November's patch and December's patch; the only thing not confirmed to be added that's missing is the toddler life stage, and toddlers were annoying anyway) *Babies are basically attached to their cribs, but there are many more social interactions you can do with them. *Moods add a level of realism to the game - I like it way better than just the moodlets of TS3 (moodlets contribute to moods in this game) *It is NOT open world like TS3 was, it's more like TS2 in that aspect (I personally rarely wanted to leave the house in TS3 anyway). However, this is a huge contributor to what makes the loading screens so near-instant. It's also way less laggy than TS3 was in game. *Sims can look way more different than each other. They can actually look like different races. There's a bit of a learning curve with making adjustments in CAS (create-a-sim), but it really pays off if you like to have more variety in Sim appearances in your game. I've attached pictures of my first two Sims showcasing this. Namin is Korean, and Jynette is black. You can also change body types a lot, but I usually prefer to make thin-to-average-sized girls still. *Multi-tasking is a nice little convenience. It's usually best for talking to other Sims while doing other things (such as cooking or painting), but there are some other uses as well. My picture of Namin shows her having two drinks at once. *Ghosts are the color of their current emotion and have different abilities depending on how they died. I have not yet tested whether there are ghost babies in TS4. *There are better buy and build-mode tools as well. *I recommend downloading a faster gardening mod. You can get one from modthesims. *There's too much other good stuff in this game to go on about, you can buy it and discover for yourself, or find a multitude of other information about it online. I was nervous about buying the game when I did, because I heard negative things about it (mostly people complaining that it's not open-world), but once I played it, I loved it way more than I loved TS2 even, and that was my first Sims game. I hope this review was helpful to you. Good luck with your buying decision, and happy simming! :)1Yumi

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/24/2014Happy I bought despite some bad reviewsI think many people coming off the Sims 3 with all its content from expansions were blindsided by the lack of content that is in Sims 4. For me, being a stand alone game, I am loving it. I have over a hundred hours in and still not have done a lot of the stuff in it. There are goals to be met to unlock stuff. Some people don't like this. The feel it is too RPGish for them. I enjoy unlocking the items and achieving the goals. If you don't, they have cheats for that. I have not had a crash. Bugs??? What bugs? If they mean clipping(where a sim walks through another sim or an item such as a couch), I would much have that than the Sims 3 way dealing with something in the way, which would be cancelling action and standing there stomping their foot. I have had a fork get stuck on a sim.( Easily fixed by going into CAS) Emotions are really fun to play with. Whatever mood they are in, you can really see it in their expressions. There are different actions available depending on their moods. CAS is so much fun. Some of the Star sims that players have made are so spot on. You can download them to your game. Build mode is amazing. If you have any bit of a creative streak in ya. You will be building for hours. If you don't like to build, they have many pre-builts and stylized rooms to choose from. Also, some of the houses built by players will blow you away. They also can be downloaded and put into your game. My only wish for build mode would be automatic roofs. Hours and hours of fun. Reason for not giving it five stars....anything can have room for improvement.RobertaMae

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/14/2014Best-Sims-EverThe sims are so smart, it's crazy. You almost don't even have to tell them to do anything. The build mode is SOOO much easier to deal with, and is set up better than any sims game so far. Excellent! I'm very impressed.Kandyland2002
