Good air conditioner
Little tricky on the install but overall very quiet but keeps a large master room very cool. It's different because the window comes down in the middle of it. Lot of measuring and making it fit right. Great air conditioner though. Recommended to anyone.

Item came damaged and/or not assembled properly. Major hassle to replace since I do not own a car and live on the third floor with no elevator... Walmart, manufacturer, and warranty provider all being a pain to get this resolved.

    Well Worth The Price
    Excellent A/C Unit. Super quiet. Be patient on the install and follow instructions, don't rush it. The window I installed it in was too close to roof to use the included drop down exterior wall brackets so I improvised and used EVA Foam Yoga Bricks (3 of them stacked/$7.48 each) from Walmart's fitness section to help support and level it properly. Worked great. Seriously considering buying another.

    Damaged item waiting on second unit after returnin
    Got the AC unit within 3 days after I ordered it so I was happy about that, hooked up the bracket which didn't take long like other reviews say, I put the AC on the bracket and I'm not happy how it sits on it, it only has 2 small screws that attach to each other. It needs something extra on the outside part to fill the gap from the AC to the edge of the bracket “something you can reinforce your self”. So i finish hooking it up, cut the foam and go to plug it in and when the Compressor kicked on it made a type of noise like one of the copper tubes was hitting or shaking, not to loud but enough for me to take a harder look, and that's when I saw the big dent on the side right next to the compressor, I was too upset. I just took out my old unit and put this in?. I contacted Walmart to see if they would refund some of my money if I kept it they said I can either use my extended warranty to have it fixed or return it, I was really trying to get the discount but they would not honor it. I ended up returning it and it now I just re-ordered another one only because I'm a light sleeper and this is supposed to be the quietest one. It did feel like it cooled good enough so I am currently waiting on the second one. After reading some of these reviews it seems to be a common problem.The manufacturer either needs to have a better QC or a better way to package the item. I still feel like I need to be reimbursed for going through this whole situation from the manufacturer itself.

    Defective filter; Customer service useless
    The AC looks great and I'm sure it's whisper quiet, but I can't run the stupid thing because it shipped with a warped, defective filter. The filter doesn't fit into the AC properly and leaves a huge gap, and I am concerned that if I run it then dust will get into the AC and ruin the brand new product I just paid $456 for. I went to the customer service website, and the representative took forever then told me I needed to call back or chat with them again during business hours. She said I needed to go through a troubleshooting process. Well, their business hours are exactly during the time I am at work. Not at home, with the air conditioner. So I'm supposed to take a day off of work to do this? Also, there's nothing to troubleshoot. The filter is warped and defective. Now I have a hot living room and a $500 air conditioner in the window that I can't run because it was shipped with a shoddy, bent piece of plastic. VERY disappointed.

    One of the most innovative and well thought out designs. Very quiet. Having the compressor and evaporator components external and physically separated from the part that is in the house, makes it one of the quietest A/C I've ever installed. Does a great job cooling. The bracket that holds it is top notch. Great price. Comes with everything you need to secure and insulate.

    Does no cool
    No no no no. I bought this AC at the same time I bought two used GE’s. Stuck in my window with much excitement.! Thought maybe I’d get a little cool out of the but this, this was the holy grail. Ranked number one by wire cutter of the New York Times. I just knew I was going to be sleeping in a cool cave. Could not have been more disappointed. For all the hype, this thing does not cool! I’m taking it out of my window and bringing it back tomorrow. The used GE’s out preformed this larger, highly rated model 10 fold.

    I would definitely buy again. worth the effort.
    The install was a little more detailed than I thought it would be. takes a little extra brain power and sweat then traditional window units. my window was a little bit smaller than the size of the box showed. but I was able to take out my sash and reinstall. definitely a lot quieter and a lot less work to seal the window up since the opening is so small. tabs in the middle of the window that allow you to put your window down to hold the unit while you install it or removable when you are done the instructions do not tell you that. if your window is wider than the recommended distance do not fret. the stabilizer bars that slide out into the ends of the window can actually be screwed down into the bottom of the window frame to hold it in place. this is my second Midea window unit and did not disappoint as far as performance satisfaction. this unit is extremely quiet and blows very strong and cold. Also it goes down to 60° and is a better filter setup inside. I definitely recommed this u shaped unit.

    Great quiet window A/C unit…..
    I have a 24 inch wide window, so had to drill a bigger hole to adjust the A/C unit to center of window. No problem. Everything went according to instructions. Enjoying A/C in our 10x24foot cabin. Worked first time we applied power. Very satisfied.
