Good air conditioner
Little tricky on the install but overall very quiet but keeps a large master room very cool. It's different because the window comes down in the middle of it. Lot of measuring and making it fit right. Great air conditioner though. Recommended to anyone.

The window I installed it in was too close to roof to use the included drop down exterior wall brackets so I improvised and used EVA Foam Yoga Bricks (3 of them stacked/$7.48 each) from Walmart's fitness section to help support and level it properly. 3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/22/2023Damaged item waiting on second unit after returninGot the AC unit within 3 days after I ordered it so I was happy about that, hooked up the bracket which didn't take long like other reviews say, I put the AC on the bracket and I'm not happy how it sits on it, it only has 2 small screws that attach to each other. It needs something extra on the outside part to fill the gap from the AC to the edge of the bracket “something you can reinforce your self”. So i finish hooking it up, cut the foam and go to plug it in and when the Compressor kicked on it made a type of noise like one of the copper tubes was hitting or shaking, not to loud but enough for me to take a harder look, and that's when I saw the big dent on the side right next to the compressor, I was too upset. I just took out my old unit and put this in?. I contacted Walmart to see if they would refund some of my money if I kept it they said I can either use my extended warranty to have it fixed or return it, I was really trying to get the discount but they would not honor it. I ended up returning it and it now I just re-ordered another one only because I'm a light sleeper and this is supposed to be the quietest one. It did feel like it cooled good enough so I am currently waiting on the second one. After reading some of these reviews it seems to be a common problem.The manufacturer either needs to have a better QC or a better way to package the item. I still feel like I need to be reimbursed for going through this whole situation from the manufacturer itself.Capo

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/23/2022Defective filter; Customer service uselessThe AC looks great and I'm sure it's whisper quiet, but I can't run the stupid thing because it shipped with a warped, defective filter. The filter doesn't fit into the AC properly and leaves a huge gap, and I am concerned that if I run it then dust will get into the AC and ruin the brand new product I just paid $456 for. I went to the customer service website, and the representative took forever then told me I needed to call back or chat with them again during business hours. She said I needed to go through a troubleshooting process. Well, their business hours are exactly during the time I am at work. Not at home, with the air conditioner. So I'm supposed to take a day off of work to do this? Also, there's nothing to troubleshoot. The filter is warped and defective. Now I have a hot living room and a $500 air conditioner in the window that I can't run because it was shipped with a shoddy, bent piece of plastic. VERY disappointed.SadHotCustomer

Having the compressor and evaporator components external and physically separated from the part that is in the house, makes it one of the quietest A/C I've ever installed. Does a great job cooling. Thought maybe I’d get a little cool out of the but this, this was the holy grail. Ranked number one by wire cutter of the New York Times. I just knew I was going to be sleeping in a cool cave. Could not have been more disappointed. For all the hype, this thing does not cool! I’m taking it out of my window and bringing it back tomorrow. The used GE’s out preformed this larger, highly rated model 10 fold.Denise

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/16/2022I would definitely buy again. worth the effort.The install was a little more detailed than I thought it would be. takes a little extra brain power and sweat then traditional window units. my window was a little bit smaller than the size of the box showed. but I was able to take out my sash and reinstall. definitely a lot quieter and a lot less work to seal the window up since the opening is so small. tabs in the middle of the window that allow you to put your window down to hold the unit while you install it or removable when you are done the instructions do not tell you that. if your window is wider than the recommended distance do not fret. the stabilizer bars that slide out into the ends of the window can actually be screwed down into the bottom of the window frame to hold it in place. this is my second Midea window unit and did not disappoint as far as performance satisfaction. this unit is extremely quiet and blows very strong and cold. Also it goes down to 60° and is a better filter setup inside. I definitely recommed this u shaped unit.allen

I watched the YouTube video (video info is in the owners manual). The Wi-Fi connect button did not work for me on 2 separate wireless routers. I downloaded the phone App (barcode in user manual) which I used to scan the barcode on the Midea. This allowed me to pick the Wi-Fi connection and enter the password using my phone. This would be a nice option for the included remote, note to Midea. I can control the air conditioner with Google home, remote, or phone App. When looking for the barcode, I removed the front filter cover and I noticed damage on the cooling fins. The cooper cooling pipes the fins surround seem undamaged, so I am not returning it unless I notice any cooling issues. However, I am disappointed by the damage which had to happen prior to packaging the unit. Quality control should have discovered this and is the only reason for the 4 stars. This is actually a 5 start unit.Donald

I didn't see a link on the Midea site, just search for "Midea U AC Installation Guide" on YouTube. The air conditioner works great and is very quite! I tried to get the wireless to connect with the "Connect" button with two separate wireless routers and failed. The instructions for the connect button is simple enough, but did not work for me. I did use the phone app to scan the air conditioners barcode, then connected it to my WiFi by entering the WiFi password. A suggestion to Midea engineers, allow the included remote to enter the WiFi password for wireless configuration!! I took off the front panel to look for the barcode and found damage to the coils. The air conditioner works fine. The cooper plumbing that the coils surround, does not look damaged, so I will not return it unless I notice a cooling issue. I am disappointed and the damage to the coils is the only reason for the 4 stars. This is actually a 5 star device.Donald

From the design to the guts, everything is basically a minisplit. It's a great idea because the lack of noise is unreal, just like a real minisplit. Once in a while I'll hear this rattly vibration from the compressor but it goes away within a minute. I read another reviewer say this goes away after a while. The install was fairly straight forward, watch the newer video guide on their youtube channel.BanScalpers

I did most myself ( 50 female ) and only had my hubby help lift it in, but I probably could’ve done that too, just not as smooth. LOL This is a game changer for us. We only have one window in our Living room so we always wait to put in the AC because we hate to lose the fresh air. This solves that problem and did I mention how quiet it is?! I love this quiet air conditioner. I have never seen one where you can open window after it is placed but with the bracket it makes it possible. It also has a remote and works with smartphones too. It's got a support that hangs out the back, and points to secure it to the frame. And your window can close over it, though not all the way obviously. There are dense foam blocks though that actually do seem to block outside noise. So anyway, install. It's different. The printed directions made no sense to me at all. They were skimpy and mostly pictures. Fortunately there's a video, with a qr code to take you to them. The video makes it easy. The only part I was left confused on was the center track piece. I wish that had gotten a close up. It took two people to install, and went fairly smooth. I don't know how long it took us, but it wasn't super long. And now that we've done it once I imagine we could do it again in minutes. So basically, watch the video. Can you actually open the window with this installed? Yes, yes you can. Ours is on the second floor and I feel quite comfortable opening my window. It feels very secure. Definitely an upgrade from our old unit. Form- it's pretty sleek looking, and you can turn off the display! I hate lights in my room so this is a huge bonus. Function: Yeah, definitely works. It cools my room in minutes, and will get it cold enough to satisfy even the hottest sleeper. Plus it takes care of humidity. My room is so comfortable now, and even the hall and bathroom and cooled. It's a little beast, and I haven't even tried lower temp settings on it.Undisclosed

This thing can get a space nice and cool! We have a pretty large first floor space, we got the play room, the mud room, then the dining room, the living room and the kitchen plus the guest bathroom, he plugged it in and automatically I could feel the nice cool air, it has a temperature setting on where you want it set at, plus a remote control, you can also programmed it through your phone if you download the app, and the best thing is that is noise less!!!! Super quiet you won't even notice it. Is the BEST AIR CONDITIONING in the market you won't be disappointed.Undisclosed

I have never seen a air conditioner that goes in a window the way this one does. It has a slot that your window goes down in after installing it and that leaves more room for you to look outside. Also after I installed it, I was surprised that my blinds went straight down behind the air conditioner. It also has a WiFi setting. I was amazed after trying this setting out to. You can adjust the air conditioner from away from your own home. You can set the temperature gauge before you get home and it will already be cool when you get home. This air conditioner is very very quiet. You can hardly tell you have it on when it's running. It cools your place very fast and keeps it feeling comfortable all the time. I would recommend this product to anyone that's looking for a great new uplifting look and feel. You will be very satisfied with this unit. It was easy to install also.
