WORST. BOBBIN CASE. EVER.
I got this sewing machine as a gift for my birthday in November of last year, 2017. I decided on this machine myself after doing SOME research, I wish I had listened to the bad reviews. Although this machine is kinda lovely, I cannot stand the bobbin case. It gets jammed for no reason, it seems as if sewing a stitch for a good 2-3 minutes seems to set it off. The needle will stab the bobbin case, eventually chunks of the bobbin case break off, then thread will get caught in the jagged edges until you have to buy a new bobbin case for $20. Case A (pictured) lasted about a month or two. I was sewing PJ pants for my family as an xmas gift and couldn't stand the frustration of the needle stabbing the case or the thread tangling in the jagged edges every 5 minutes - so I bought a vintage Singer 403A to finish my PJ bottoms. In December, I ordered a new bobbin case that finally arrived around February. That one lasted a bit longer, although it was still being randomly stabbed, again, for no reason. I was using the correct foot for the stitch and it was threaded correctly. I was finally content with Case B and started to appreciate the machine - since I can no longer return it - until last night. I was trying out some of the fancy stitches (stitch 57) when the needle jammed and got stuck in the bobbin case, FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME (I just happened to switch to a new needle, too, so it was extra infuriating bending a brand new needle). I pulled out the bobbin case and found the huge chunk ripped off (pic 3) and decided that I'm finally sick of this machine and do not want to spend $20 every 3-6 months on a new bobbin case. Old is much better than NEW
I had the sewing machine for two weeks, and started having problems with the stitching not going right. I tried to adjust my thread tension on every number available and it still was not doing as it should. I am out of town now, and when I do return home, hopefully, I can try it out again. If not, I will be returning the machine back to Walmart. I previously had a Singer Fashion Mate for 50 years and had to oil it twice!

    My fist new machine
Was recommended by a friend. Exactly what I needed as a novice. Love the YouTube video on getting to know your machine, super helpful. Found threading the machine to be easy.

    The machine.
I simply love my new sewing machine. The footpedal that came with it didn't work but a simple phone call got me a replacement that works just great. I've already made my first machine quilt on it. I would definitely recommend the sewing machine to any begining machine quilter.

I received my machine and I love it. The day after Christmas I made two pillows. On the last pillow the foot peddle when out, it just stopped working. I dontwant to send my machine back just to get the foot peddle replaced. Also there was not a manual in the machine box. Can someone please help me.

Should be Singer of the Decade!
This is the absolute best model of Singer sewing machines manufactured in a very long time. Metal inner frame, easy enough for a beginner with plenty of room to grow into. Lots of features for the more advanced sewist. Extra bright LED lights make it sew easy to see your work. Many decorative stitches to choose from all at the touch of a button. Choose to either use the foot controller or simply touch a button for automatic stitching. Set the speed control to your comfort level. The automatic needle up / down is perfect for making those pointed corners. The SwiftSmart threading system is awesome!! I have owned my 7640 for about 4 years and just purchased one for a friend. I have put this 7640 through some real torture tests and it has never let me down.

    Fairly satisfied
I purchased this product about 6 months ago and enjoy it thoroughly. I do wish that the stich setting window would light up. Makes it hard to see the pattern settings.

Bobbin Case Defect + Too sensitive
I bought this particular Singer about a month ago. I should have read other reviews closely, but this was the only available sewing machine on singer.com so I went ahead and ordered. It took me a while to open up and train myself (watched several YouTube videos). It's been about 2 weeks I really started to use this sewing machine, but I only had nothing but issues. First of all, the bobbin case gets loose and rotate as I sew, and the needle was hitting on the bobbin case. Of course, the bobbin case is made out of metal/plastic,so the needle would not go through, so the needle tries hard by going up and down very fast, and then the machine jams and stops. To troubleshoot, I opened up the metal plate to see what was going on and realized the bobbin case was completely out of place. I had to put it back to where it was supposed to be and then tested out. It worked again, but after I do about a foot of straight stitching, then it gets out of place again. I can see the bobbin case moving through the bobbin plate (clear plastic so I can actually see it). To finish one small project, I had to stop and put the bobbin case back 4 times. I am attaching a picture which shows the needle marks. The bobbin case moves counterclockwise, and the needle hits on it. One other thing is the machine itself is very sensitive. If something is slightly out of place, it stops working so I have to re-thread and start all over. I think I have spent more time troubleshooting than actually using the machine to finish my projects. As a reference point, I had a hand me down Singer machine from my mom (about 35 years old) finally died. I could have taken to a repair shop, but the repair shop was not close to me and when I called, the wait time is 3 - 6 months so I bought a new one. I have been sewing since when I was in early teens and have done lots

I love my Singer Confidence. It was worth the wait.
I haven't had any problems with it at all. I am 100% satisfied and would recommend it to anyone interested in a nice machine, yet still affordable.
