Maybe I just got a bad unit
I was very disappointed with this purchase. Room never got cool. Compressor would shut off after about 2 minutes and I noticed a lot of water collecting in the hose. Tried it for 5 hours to give it a chance but it just didnt work

And she had tried using a smaller number in btu air unit. Just didn't really help cool it off. I seen this one, and ordered it for her. She loves it. Finally found one that cools off her place.Betty

However after waiting the time it says it requires before using it. It doesn't cool. It's too heavy for me to load in my car to return to store. An after numerous attempts the 2 locations close to me have been of little help in even speaking to someone about the issue. They just tell you to go online.Amanda

Temp would be set at 66 but with a temperature gauge 1 foot away the temp would never get lower than 78 degrees. The vent was extremely hard to install/connect! The unit had to be elevated in order for drainage water tube to work.nancy

It sounds like an airplane landing on high setting. I would have to move it or turn it down or off to hear the tv. Some people have posted that the window vent kit is loose and doesn't fit well. I have tall sliding windows and it's decent. There's some gaps but nothing major. Most important... It's not 90 inside my house any more ❤️Pedrodebs

Gets cold love the difference settings. Office room is in the attic area so it get super hot . With in a half hour went from 98 to 74. Makes so much easier to work.Katko

I did have to cut the window part to fit into my window which was easy. It's not loud and it works very well! This kept 3 rooms cool! The remote is very helpful to! Overall great AC!!Kodajayden

We have a pretty old outside unit that is breaking down often and so this portable unit has saved us quite a few times. It really does a phenomenal job of cooling down our living room which is where we use it the most. its a large size living room and does very well. It is easily connected to the internet and you can control it with alexa or through a phone app. .the only thing thats truly not that great is that we live in florida so it needs to be able to drain or it will shut off and the drain spot needs to be lower than the unit or it wont drain, for example, i have to have my unit elevated on a box so that it can drain into a larger tupperware i can pour out 2x a day.mrsheslar3

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/04/2021Thumbs Up for JHS portable air conditioner!Our central air "died" in July while experiencing really hot weather. We didn't want to spend the money to replace it at this time so decided to spend the $400 and try this portable unit. We are impressed by the strength of the fan on this unit, even at the lower level! The controls are convenient and easy to use; so far we haven't even needed the remote although it's nice to have. The fact that the unit can be controlled with a smart phone is another good feature. Our home is not totally open concept, but has large doorways between rooms, and the cool air circulates around the main rooms easily. Extra fans help on the really hot days we've had recently. Set-up wasn't too bad but instructions weren't as clear as they could have been. The exhaust hose wanted to pull the window panel in so it wasn't tight in the window, so we had to put a brace under the hose to hold the panel level in the window. The unit does take a chunk of space out of your room if you keep it the 20 inches away from walls. In our large living room it's not a problem, but could be a problem in a small room. Overall we're happy with the product and recommend it.Sandra

The only thing I dont really like is when the air comes out, it comes out at a low point. So it will hit your legs or your face as you walk by, as opposed to pushing the air out higher. Thats really the only thing. Other than that, Im pretty happy with itROBIN
